The controversy of the car being unsafe and too weak to handle bumps have scarred this car's reputation, however, because of its cheap price and economical consumption of gas, many still buy and use it.

Chery QQ has two gasoline-powered engines, I just don't know which of the two is available here in the Philippines.

* 0.8 L SQR372 I3 DOHC 12v — 38 kW (51 hp) at 6000 rpm, 70 N·m (52 ft·lbf) at 3500 rpm
* 1.1 L SQR472F I4 DOHC 16v — 50 kW (67 hp) at 6000 rpm, 90 N·m (66 ft·lbf) at 3500 rpm

With other vehicle brands, their most economical car is a 1.3 L, but with the Chery QQ, gas consumption is lower than the usual. So definitely with gas prices high as today, the Chery QQ is a good buy.

So let's go to its safety concerns, since this is the known weakness of this car. I found a crash test of a Chery QQ, see and judge for yourself.

In that video, it looks like a typical car crashing, but is it really that sturdy? With how the car looks, I still think its weak to bumps and crashes. What do you think? Money saved or money spent?

For me it's a money saved, well as long as you're a good driver. Just don't crash it, and you'll probably save money.
